As one of our efforts to support the lives of child-rearing households affected by COVID-19, we provide benefits to households receiving Child Allowance. Application for this benefit is not necessary.
Extra Special Benefits for Child-rearing Households
Recipient
Recipients of Child Allowance for April 2020
(if you have a first-year student at high school as of April, he/she is eligible if a recipient of the Child Allowance for March)
- The notices will be sent to the eligible persons around June 10. The benefit will not be paid to those who have not received the notice. If you fall under the benefit requirements and have not received the notice, please contact the Child Care Support Section of the Children Affairs Division (window 21 on the 3rd floor).
- Recipients of Special Benefits of 5,000 yen per month per child are not eligible.

Including children who were junior high school students until March 2020 (a first-year student at high school as of April) being eligible for the Child Allowance for March
Benefit Amount
10,000 yen per child
Payment Period and Bank Account
Benefit will be paid around July to the designated bank account that receives Child Allowance.
If you cancel the designated bank account, etc., and there is a problem with receiving the benefit, please submit the “Notification of Registration, etc. of Benefit Payment Account.”
Deadline for Notification：Wednesday, June 24, 2020
Declining to Receive Benefit
If you do not want to receive the benefit, you need to submit a “Statement of Refusal to Receive the Benefit.” Please send it by mail or bring it to the Children Affairs Division counter.
