Coming-of-Age Ceremony in 2022

The town will hold the Coming-of-Age Ceremony to celebrate you as a new adult and to give an opportunity to think about your awareness and responsibilities as an adult. 
The ceremony may be cancelled depending on the future spread of COVID-19 infection. Please check the latest information on our website whenever necessary.

  Ceremony Hours: 10:30AM ~ 11:00AM (Reception: 9:30AM ~)

Large Hall in the Oizumi Machi Bunka-Mura [Address: 5-24-1 Asahi]

Eligibles

Those who were born from April 2nd, 2001 to April 1st, 2002.

How to Participate

  • When participating in the coming-of-age ceremony, please write your emergency contact information and your body temperature on the day of the ceremony on the envelope that contained the invitation letter, and submit it to the receptionist.
  • Invitations have been sent in early November to residents who are eligible to participate.
    If you live outside of town and wish to participate in Oizumi Town’s coming-of-age ceremony, please contact the Lifelong Learning Division (Shogai-Gakushu-ka).

Notes

  • A sign-language interpreter will be available on that day.
  • Only new adults can enter the hall of the ceremony in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.
    If you need assistance, please notify of it in advance.

Requests when participating in the 2022 Oizumi Town Coming-of-Age Ceremony

In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to allow people to participate in the coming-of-age ceremony with peace of mind, please observe the following guidelines when participating in the ceremony.

About 3 days before the Coming-of-Age Ceremony

Please take your temperature and continue to monitor your health.
If you have a fever, cold symptoms, or are feeling unwell, please refrain from participating in the ceremony. 

In the morning on the day of the Coming-of-Age Ceremony

  • If your temperature is 37.5 ℃ or more, or is 1 ℃ higher than your normal, please refrain from participating in the ceremony.
  • If you have cold symptoms such as coughing, general malaise, or etc., please refrain from participating in the ceremony. 

When entering the venue of the Coming-of-Age Ceremony

  • Please secure interpersonal distance each other to avoid crowding. 
  • If your body temperature at the entrance is 37.5℃ or higher, you will not be allowed to enter the venue.
  • Please wear a face mask. 
  • Alcohol disinfectant is available in the lobby. Please wash and disinfect your hands frequently.
  • Please do not participate if you have been drinking.

In the venue of the Coming-of-Age Ceremony

  • Eating and drinking are prohibited in the venue.
  • Please refrain from shouting or any other behavior that disturbs the order of the venue. You may be asked to leave the venue immediately if your behavior does not improve after being warned.
  • Please do not change your seat after being seated. 
  • After the ceremony, please leave the venue as soon as possible under the direction of the staff and do not remain in the venue. And also please do not stay on the premises and leave immediately.

Others

  • If, before the day of the coming-of-age ceremony, your prefecture has declared a state of emergency, or if your prefecture has imposed a voluntary restraint on traveling outside the prefecture, please refrain from participating in the ceremony. 
  • From two weeks before the coming-of-age ceremony, please refrain from going out to crowded places and doing other activities with high risk of infection.
  • If any of the participants are infected with COVID-19, we will ask for your cooperation in the interview and investigation by the public health center. In addition, participants may be asked to stay at home for a period of 14 days.
  • If any of the participants are infected with COVID-19, please cooperate with the interview survey conducted by the health center. In addition, participants may be asked to stay at home for 14 days.
  • Please refrain from activities that may lead to the spread of infection such as eating with a large group of people before and after the coming-of-age ceremony.
