In Gunma Prefecture, September is designated as “Suicide Prevention Month” to spread correct knowledge about suicide and mental illness and to eliminate prejudice against them. Oizumi Town is also conducting educational activities, so please take this opportunity to think about suicide prevention.
Suicide prevention
In the year 2021, 21,007 people in Japan and 382 people in Gunma Prefecture took their own lives. Suicide is said to be the result of being psychologically driven by multiple factors such as health problems, economic problems, and family problems. In case you are tired but cannot sleep for more than two weeks, or if you continue to experience physical or mental discomfort, consult your family doctor or a consulting organization as soon as possible.
