From April 1st (Sat.), 2023 , Oizumi Town will extend the eligibility for welfare medical subsidy for children to all high school students generation (by the end of the school year in which they turn 18 years old).
Expanded eligibility
Those who are in the age group from junior high school graduation to the first March 31st after reaching 18 years of age.
Application procedures
2nd year and 3rd year of high school student generation as of April, 2023 (those born between April 2nd, 2005 and April 1st, 2007)
Notification has already been sent individually in late January 2023, and the application form and a self-addressed envelope are enclosed. Please mail the application form with a copy of your health insurance card attached.
If you have not received the notification, please contact the National Health Insurance Section.
1st year of high school student generation as of April, 2023 (those born between April 2nd, 2007 and April 1st, 2008)
No procedure is required. A certificate of eligibility with an extended validity period until March 31 after reaching the age of 18 will be sent in late March.

Medical treatment covered by the subsidy
Hospitalization expenses and the meals, outpatient medical expenses after April 1st.
However, medical treatment not covered by insurance and the portion of medical expenses paid by other systems are not applicable.
Precautions
If you do not have a welfare medical subsidy eligibility certificate, you will not be eligible to receive medical subsidy. Please not that if you apply on or after April 2nd, you will not be eligible to receive medical subsidy before the date of application.
