Tax return consultation for tax year CY2023 will be held

A consultation on income tax returns for the 2023 tax year will be held. If you need to file a tax return, please remember to do so at the Tatebayashi Tax Office or the large meeting room on the 3rd floor of the Town Hall.
For the protection of personal information, the main entrance of the town hall will be opened at 8:00 a.m.

Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19 Infections

  1. Please come in small groups and refrain from waiting in the venue. Since the tax return consultation area is usually crowded every year, please submit your tax return by e-tax or mail.
  2. Reception

  • You receive a number slip, and you can come in when it comes your turn for an individual declaration consultation.
  • Re-entry for the day will be available until 4:00 pm.
  • As a general rule, only a tax attorney or a relative living at the same address can act as a representative to file a tax return (please bring ID for the representative).
  • There are no designated declaration consultation days for each administrative district.
  • Please make use of the Oizumi Town official X-account to keep you informed of the congestion at the venue.

What you need to declare

  • Documents that can verify personal number (e.g., My number card)
  • ID such as driver’s license, resident card, etc. (If you have My Number card, it can be used as an ID.)
  • Proof of income (withholding tax, income and expense statement, etc. that confirms income and necessary expenses)
  • Certificates or receipts of various deductions, etc.
  • Filing of municipal and prefectural tax (postcard sent by the town)
  • Notice of tax return (sent by the tax office, containing the amount of scheduled tax payments, etc.)
  • Passbook or other documents showing the account number in the person’s name (for those who will receive income tax refunds), etc.

Notes.

Examples of people who do not need to file a tax return

The following persons may not be required to file an income tax return. For details, please contact the Taxation Division of Oizumi Town Hall or the Tax Office.
However, even those who are not required to file an income tax return must file a municipal and prefectural tax return if they had any income during 2023, or if they have a deficit in business, agriculture, or real estate.  Even those who had no income are required to file a tax return in order to issue income certificates and other documents, and to determine national health insurance tax, childcare fees, etc.

  • Those whose income from public pensions, etc. is less than 4 million yen and whose income other than public pensions is less than 200,000 yen.
  • Persons receiving retirement income payments (except those not subject to income tax withholding, such as retirement payments received from foreign companies), etc.

Examples of people who need to file a tax return at the Tatebayashi Tax Office

The following persons are not eligible for tax filing consultation at the tax filing site of the town office. Please file your tax return at the Tatebayashi Tax Office.

  • Persons who file a blue tax return
  • Those who started business during 2023
  • Those who have special dividend income such as dividends from overseas stocks
  • Persons who made profits from the use of virtual currency (e.g. Bitcoin)
  • Persons who transferred real estate such as land or buildings
  • Persons who file a tax return for the transfer of stocks and other securities or futures transactions
  • Persons who have forestry income
  • Persons who file consumption tax returns
  • Persons who file gift tax returns
